FAQs

  • Schedule an appointment by calling our office at 724-399-3931 or message us using our Contact Us form. During normal business hours, we may not answer immediately as we are seeing patients. We will respond to your detailed voice message or email within 48 business hours.

  • We require new patient/initial visits to be in-person, as we believe face-to-face assessments provide a comprehensive evaluation. A combination of in-person and telehealth visits will be at the discretion of your provider.

  • We accept Medicare and most major commercial insurances. If you are unsure if we accept your insurance, please contact your insurance carrier to verify. You can request a Super Bill that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.

  • Medication refill requests may take up to 3 business days to process. Our preferred communication method for requests is through our patient portal. We only accept refill requests during normal business hours.

  • Our policy requires patients to cancel scheduled appointments within 1 full business day in advance to avoid a cancellation fee. We only accept cancellation via a call to the office or a message through the patient portal.

  • Payments can be made by check, cash or credit card. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, or HSA/FSA cards. Please contact the office at 724-399-3931 to make payment arrangements.

  • All our providers see patients ages 6 and up. We believe in equal opportunities for everyone and strive to create a space where diversity is celebrated, and all individuals are treated with fairness, dignity and respect.

  • The difference between a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) and a psychiatrist is mainly education and training. Both PMHNPs and psychiatrists assess, diagnose, and treat mental health patients. Both use in-depth knowledge of human behavior and mental health conditions to help patients manage symptoms.

  • A psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and a therapist have distinct roles based on education/training and treatment focus. PMHNPs are licensed healthcare providers who can diagnose mental health conditions, prescribe medication, and provide various forms of psychotherapy. Therapists exclusively focus on providing therapeutic modalities to address emotional and psychological challenges. We would be glad to refer you to someone who provides extensive counseling/therapy services.

  • We would love to welcome your animal to your appointment. Our office building requires documentation of certification or endorsement from your provider. Please let us know in advance so we can make the necessary arrangements.
