“A key aspect of my work is to challenge my patients in a way that promotes growth and fosters resilience.”
Collette Gibbons (she/her)
Hi! I’m Collette, a dual certified Psychiatric Mental Health and Family nurse practitioner. My person-centered and collaborative approach honors your unique experiences and challenges, encouraging active participation in your care.
I believe that mental health care should address the whole person - body, mind, and spirit. I integrate traditional psychiatric treatments with holistic modalities, including somatic therapy, creating nutrition plans, improving sleep, managing stress, and integrating supportive therapy.
My special interests are those who have experienced trauma or are going through grief and loss. I am also passionate about deprescribing when appropriate, helping you reduce reliance on medications and explore holistic alternatives when possible. I welcome patients 6 years and older.
I have a long and impressive medical career, spanning over 25 years. I have extensive primary care experience in various aspects of healthcare, including internal medicine, out-patient mental health care, and acute and chronic care management. I earned a master’s degree at Vanderbilt University in Family Health and a Post-Master’s Certification at Robert Morris University in Psych Mental Health along with a Business degree from the Ohio State University.
More than just focusing on individual patients, I believe in healing their families and the larger community. I am an advocate for community mental health and actively contribute as a board member at Outreach Teen and Family Services. My main goal is to reshape the way we think about mental health, breaking down the stigma and building a practice that focuses on understanding, and not judgement.
